Silver Strikers coach Pieter De Jongh yesterday vented his anger and frustration on the media in a post-match interview after his side was held to a goalless draw by Extreme FC in a TNM Super League match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

The Dutch tactician had a chance to displace leaders FCB Nyasa Bullets, who still lead with 34 points.

De Jongh: That’s a little (sic) stupid question

But it was yet another bad day in office for the coach who calls himself ‘The Champ’.

In a post-match interview De Jongh responded to questions on why the team is failing to utilise scoring opportunities as “stupid”.

He said: “It’s simple . We did not win because we did not score.”

Asked what is the problem behind his team’s failure to score, De Jongh lashed out: “That’s a little (sic) stupid question.”

He went on to respond to another enquiry on what is behind the team’s poor perfomance as “stupid”.

Extreme FC coach Peter Bunya said they were determined to collect maximum points after losing 4-1 to Silver in the first round, but were betrayed by lack of precision.

“Not very good for us considering where we are on the table,” he said.

Following the draw Silver, Mukuru Wanderers and Chitipa United are tied at 33 points.

However, Chitipa and Wanderers each have a game in hand.

Chitipa host Ekwendeni Hammers at Karonga Stadium this afternoon while the Nomads take on Mafco at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

In other matches set for this afternoon Kamuzu Barracks and Karonga United clash at Kasungu Stadium while struggling Blue Eagles host rejuvenated Mighty Wakawaka Tigers at Nankhaka Stadium.

Tomorrow Moyale Barracks take on Bangwe All Stars at Rumphi Stadium whereas Dedza Dynamos will host Red Lions at Dedza Stadium.
